Mike Barad is head of product capabilities for Morningstar, where he leads global product development for Morningstar's professional software suite. This includes Morningstar Direct for Wealth Management, Morningstar Direct for Asset Management, Morningstar Office Cloud, Morningstar Advisor Workstation, Morningstar Total Rebalance Expert, and more.

Mike’s teams are also responsible for the shared product capabilities that fuel Morningstar’s products and third-party solutions, including software enabling investment research and reports, portfolio analysis, financial planning, and predictive analytics. In prior years with this group, Mike oversaw the growth of Morningstar's automated advice engines that powered Morningstar to be the world's third largest robo-advisor, and he started Morningstar's mobile center of excellence—delivering a native app platform and award-winning suite of iOS and Android investing apps.

Previously, Mike held a range of executive management positions in financial publishing, research, consulting, and product management for Ibbotson Associates, Andex Associates, and Morningstar, and he started his career as a financial consultant for Merrill Lynch.
